Stories of Bravery Back to Stories of Bravery
Tia from Minnesota
Bravery is using your voice to stand up for yourself and others, even when it goes against societal norms. For me, bravery meant illuminating the voice inside myself that contradicted the negative thoughts I had about my own body and society's definition of beauty. I used to struggle with body-image issues and anorexia. Now that I'm healthy, I want to empower others who have struggled with these issues to redefine beauty and lead healthy and enriching lives. Sometimes, bravery is as simple as reaching out to others and telling your story.
